Corrections Division Responsibilities
The Corrections Division is responsible for the orderly running of the St. Bernard Parish Prison and the Juvenile Detention Center, along with the safety, welfare and security of staff, inmates and visitors.
It is directly responsible for all divisions within the Corrections Division environment, including adult corrections, juvenile detention, federal and state prisoners and the parish wide trusty work program.
The warden of the system is Colonel David Mowers, a native of St. Bernard Parish, with 16 years experience with the St. Bernard Sheriff’s Office, including nine years as warden.
